An afternoon out taking in lunch at The Nest. A walk around the shops of Barnard Castle followed by a dive home via Whorlton Lido where Geoff spent many hours as a child.
Disappointingly it is now not possible to get down to the river but it was an enjoyable walk over the bridge.

Eels in Manchester
A trip to Manchester to see eels began with a trip to Salford quay to The Lowry. Lindsey was very impressed by the buildings, especially the copper covered one at the other side of the bridge.
This was followed by a visit to the gallery to see some Lowry on the recommendation of Nick.
After a quick purchase to get free parking we headed to the hotel. A spotless room with a different view. (Review needed)
Off to the Academy for eels, described afterwards by Lindsey as being significantly better than Take That :)
Woke on Monday to Florida sunshine and decided to take the scenic tour back via Skipton. Stopped at The Art Picture House in Bury for breakfast.
A break in Skipton to have a look around. Really cold. Geoff had haircut and an interrogation at the same time!
Snowy weather on the road to Ripon, stopped at Ripley for lunch.
Too cold to stop in Ripon, so went for coffee at station in Richmond to plan for forthcoming exhibition.

Happy New Year
A new year trip away to the Three Wheat Heads at Thropton, just outside Rothbury.
Beautiful views from the window of our room.
A visit to Rothbury where we discovered, to our shock, that Lindsey's signature on her paintings had been used by Lynda Taylor. Need to think of a new signature before Lindsey breaks onto the world stage!
A meal in the restaurant with entertainment provided by a combination of a local singer and a local pipe band who were forced to play outside because "the pipes weren't tuned for indoors." The meal was delightful and the music most entertaining, certainly 10/10 for effort.
